Summary

Stumbled onto this just walking around.

Was interested in salted pepper pork chops. All we got for a quick afternoon snack was just pan fried rice cakes with pork and the pork chops.

Nothing to write home about, but the food was good for what we ordered. Note that we did not order the soup dumplings because frankly there are a gazillion other places to order this, so why would you order it here? Aside, there were mostly non-Asian customers for whatever reason. However the food was pretty on point and comparable to Los Angeles’ Monterey Park / San Gabriel cheaper restaurants.

In other words, it doesn’t taste like Panda Express.

Final Verdict

Good bang for the buck.

Yelp Jabs

The bathroom is located downstairs and it is clean but not that nice.

We should all rate Chinese restaurant bathrooms.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had soup dumplings so what better way to celebrate the Lunar New Year weekend with some soup dumplings? 456 Shanghai Cuisine fell a little short on my expectations for quality soup dumplings. 456’s pork and crab dumplings tasted average and didn’t have that much soup in it.

Joe’s Shanghai is around the corner and is known for soup dumplings. I’m curious what the expectation was for this place for their soup dumplings given that they don’t have a history for soup dumplings.
