Summary

Walked in on a Saturday at 7 PM with no reservations, and it was packed despite it being pretty frigid outside.

Luckily, we got seats at the bar.

The french onion soup was really good. The gruyere cheese was nice and toasty, and the beef broth with the onions wasn’t salty like typical french onion soups.

The porterhouse of course was cooked a perfect medium rare. The strip side was preferred over the filet mignon. There was some sauce on the side, but we didn’t need to use the sauce on the side because the steak was seasoned well and had a good flavor.

The creme spinach side was decent, albeit a ltitle on the wet side and wasn’t creamy. I think I prefer American steak house style of cream spinach over this supposed French version.

The pistachio bombe glacee was odd. We finished it all, but the chocolate was better than everything else. There is not much of a strong pistachio flavor in what looks like is a vanilla scoop of ice cream. That’s actually not ice cream, but some sort of meringue blend of pistachio. I think this was rather disappointing, and if there is a next time, definitely prefer the profiteroles over this.

Final Verdict

I thought this place was surprisingly good. I would love to come back here again for some adjustments.
