Gourmand Syndrome is a personal restaurant-review blog. This page explains what happens with data when you visit it.

No accounts, no forms

This site doesn’t have user accounts, comments, newsletter sign-ups, or any other form that asks you to submit personal information. There’s nothing to log in to and nothing to fill out, so nothing like that is collected directly.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the web. Analytics

This site uses two analytics services to understand traffic at a high level:

  • Google Analytics (GA4), which uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics like which pages are visited and how often, what gets typed into the site’s search box, and how far visitors browse the review lists. If you’d rather not be included, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and only ever reports aggregate, non-personal traffic numbers.

If you’re visiting from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you’ll be shown a consent message (provided by Google) asking whether Google and its partners may use cookies to personalize the ads you see. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they won’t be personalized. You can change your choices at any time using the privacy/cookie settings link that message provides.

If anything material changes about how this site handles ads or analytics, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
